Rural Water Ventures Invests in projects to provide safe drinking water to rural communities in Nicaragua
The mission of Rural Water Ventures is to save lives and to reduce the incidence of serious disease among rural villagers in Nicaragua by funding projects that will provide them access to adequate quantities of safe drinking water and hygienic sanitation.
- In Nicaragua, 1.4 million - 2.25 million people currently live without access to safe water
- Thousands of villages, mainly in central and eastern Nicaragua, are currently without access to safe water
- Since 2002 RWV has participated in 22 projects to bring safe water to remote villages in Nicaragua
- Approx. 3,300 people, of whom 2,000 are children, have benefitted from RWV's investment in these villages
